The 2019 Jeep Compass and the 2019 Honda CR-V are both great SUVs on the road today. These vehicles are both fuel-efficient, safe, and reliable. But is one better than the other? A closer look into these two vehicles is needed in order to clear any uncertainties consumers may have.

Jeep Compass

2019 Jeep Compass Power & Handling

The 2019 Jeep Compass comes with one engine that is powerful enough to meet all drivers needs. The 2.4-liter inline-4 engine is able to crank out 180 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque. This engine is also able to tow up to 2,000 pounds at a time. This engine is also fuel-efficient which is perfect for those that like going on long road trips. This engine can be connected to either a six-speed manual transmission or a nine-speed automatic transmission.

Honda CR-V Power

2019 Honda CR-V Power & Handling

The Honda CR-V comes with two choices of engines. Both of them come with Honda's CVT transmission, also known as continuously variable transmission. The first choice of engine is a 2.4-liter inline-4 which is able to push out 184 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque. The second option is a 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine which forces out 190 horsepower and 179 lb-ft of torque. Unfortunately, the 2019 Honda CR-V isn't able to tow anything unless a package is purchased separately.

2019 Jeep Compass Features & Design

When it comes to features in the 2019 Jeep Compass, there's a lot packed into the vehicle. A plethora of convenience, safety, and design features come standard and some are optional package features offered. One important feature is the tire mobility kit. This kit gives drivers everything they may need for a flat tire or low air pressure in the tire. Voice recognition is also standard which gives drivers the ability to call, play music, or even get directions without ever taking their hands off the steering wheel. Other available features include USB ports, heated seats, stolen vehicle tracking, remote start, and heated side mirrors.

Honda Design

2019 Honda CR-V Features & Design

When it comes to features, the 2019 Honda CR-V is severely lacking. The tire mobility kit is not available. So a flat tire means drivers can get stranded while they are out driving. Voice recognition is also missing from the 2019 Honda CR-V. Drivers will still have to take their hands off the steering wheel in order to change their music or get directions. This not only puts the driver in danger but it also puts other drivers on the road in danger as well. There's a laundry list of other features that got excluded from the 2019 Honda CR-V which includes USB ports, heated seats, stolen vehicle tracking, remote start, and heated side mirrors.

Conclusions

With all of this information in mind, which one would you choose? The 2019 Jeep Compass which comes with a ton of safety and security features or the 2019 Honda CR-V that lacks almost all of the features that come standard on the 2019 Jeep Compass? The choice is clear. The 2019 Jeep Compass is the best SUV for drivers on the road today in terms of safety and convenience.
